Govanhill Housing Association have produced graphic information posters that can now be seen on the public bins in the main streets while there has also been investment in CCTV to monitor fly-tipping hot spots.
Discussions are also ongoing to make it easier to get applications through to erect gates on the back lanes that are major problem areas.
Elaine said:
"There is funding available to help renovate back courts and to renew play areas and I’m looking to consult with residents about how this can best be spent. I want to help local groups to form, using the Council’s ‘Back Lanes Toolkit’, to renovate their back courts and deter fly-tippers, with support from this fund.”
