Campaigners from across the county were brought together by Sustaining North Berwick at a rally on North Berwick beach to send a message to delegates arriving in Scotland for COP 26.
Residents (along with their banners and posters) came together to conduct a litter pick and hear from speakers including Dr Eurig Scandrett, lecturer at Queen Margaret University and former head of community action at Friends of the Earth Scotland.
East Lothian Scottish Green Party members were at the rally and the day before, Committee Member Jacq Cottrell, was also interviewed by French media.
In an online Vert article, local campaigners highlighted the problems of coastal erosion and pollution along coastline.
Jacq Cottrell told the journalists:
The number of storms and the risk of flooding would be more frequent if the global temperature rises by 2.7 degrees by 2070. The situation is certainly less alarming than in some parts of the world, but it concerns many people here.
East Lothian Greens will also be attending the COP26 protest in Glasgow on Saturday 6th November and committee members with children will also be planning to attend the global youth climate strike in Kelvingrove Park on Friday 5th November.
