The Council is in dire need of change that truly reflects the voices of the many communities and groups that are often ignored or forgottenRyan MacKintosh
Ryan MacKintosh, our Scottish Green candidate is standing in the upcoming Inverness West by-election on the 12th of August. He proclaims "The Council is in dire need of change that truly reflects the voices of the many communities and groups that are often ignored or forgotten. A Council that is more representative of the youth across the highlands that highlight their concern and bring about a new perspective on green and local issues. Born and raised in the capital of the Highlands, Inverness I know the area well and the community around me. I have worked a variety of jobs across, hospitality, retail, tourism and now in social care".
Ryan knows the importance of having good reliable bus services for those who depend on those travel connections for work and general travel. Most often he has heard the concerns of his colleagues who struggle to get home or arrive to work due to lack of services within the area.
He acknowledges the devastating impact the pandemic has had, which is why it is vitally important for a green recovery that puts the community at the heart of local issues, protects the environment and tackles the threat of climate change.
Highlands and Islands Greens know we need to secure jobs and promote local business to strengthen our region's ability to face these crises. For our future it can't be business as usual.
