Welcoming the announcement that 21 rural fire stations across the NHS Highland area are to be used as testing sites, following successful trials at Thurso and Lochgilphead, Scottish Greens Highlands and Islands MSP John Finnie said:
“The Scottish Greens have consistently highlighted the importance of testing throughout the pandemic, as part of a robust test, trace and isolate system. It is essential that everyone who develops symptoms can easily access a test. The use of rural fire stations to increase testing capability across Highland and Argyll and Bute is a sensible approach and one that I very much welcome. I know my constituents will appreciate not having to wait on home testing kits once these facilities are in place.”
