Scottish Greens respond to FM testing comments

Responding to the First Minister’s comments at this afternoon’s Scottish Government daily briefing that, “we don’t know really for sure how reliable the testing is when people don’t have symptoms,” and comments from the Health Secretary that, “the key is to make sure that access to that testing is smooth and straightforward and with a purpose,” Scottish Greens Parliamentary Co-Leader Alison Johnstone said:

“The Scottish Government continues to underuse a significant volume of its daily testing capacity. At the weekend Scottish Greens published proposals showing how it could use this spare capacity to swiftly introduce regular testing for frontline health and care workers.

“It’s extremely disappointing that the Scottish Government seems unwilling to commit to regular testing of our dedicated frontline health and care workers or confirm any other ways it will actually use its full testing capacity.”
