Sunak must show climate leadership and go to COP 27
It is time for the Prime Minister to show climate leadership and confirm that he’s going to COP 27, according to the Scottish Greens.
The Scottish Greens environment spokesperson, Mark Ruskell MSP said:
“There is nothing more important than our environment. It has been a year since the warm words we heard at COP 26, yet many of the promises that were made have turned to dust.
“In the UK, things have actually gone backwards. The government has commissioned even more oil and gas exploration at a time when it should be investing in renewables and a just transition away from the fossil fuels that have done so much damage.
“The Prime Minister needs to show climate leadership and ensure that he is at COP. Time is running out, it is not enough for our leaders to bury their heads in the sand and abdicate their responsibility to our planet and to future generations.”
