Sarah Beattie-Smith has worked in the voluntary sector for the last ten years, most recently leading a policy and research team working on issues like fuel poverty. She studied Sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art and went on to serve two terms as President of the Students Union before undertaking further study in economics, social policy and political philosophy. Originally from South Lanarkshire, she grew up in the Scottish Borders and now lives in Dunbar.
