With the Minister’s decision imminent, this may be our last chance to save St Fittick's Park. Help us by emailing the Minister and making your voice count.

St Fittick’s Park is an important green space and family recreation facility for the people of Aberdeen. It is also home to a diverse and beautiful array of plants and wildlife. It is under threat after being zoned for development, with public money being made available to help destroy the park. Together we can save this beautiful and important place!

The Park contains an area of restored wetlands, a vital and threatened habitat for many species, and is the only accessible green space left for the people of Torry and the wider Aberdeen community to enjoy. St Fittick’s Park is an award-winning site, with the wetland restoration project being awarded by the Herald Society Awards, RSPB’s Nature of Scotland Award, The River Restoration Centre, and more.

Aberdeen City Council has re-zoned St Fittick’s Park, opening it to industrial development as part of a proposed Energy Transition Zone. Email the Scottish Government Minister now to demand that he save St Fittick’s Park.

We are in a Nature Emergency with one in nine species in Scotland under threat, and need to protect these habitats, not lose them.

Take action now!

The Scottish Government has pledged £26 million to the Energy Transition Zone. Locally, residents support the transition away from fossil fuels but oppose the destruction of St Fittick’s Park.

Torry has already had to deal with the loss of the beach for the Aberdeen South Harbour development, the construction of an incinerator next to homes and schools, and the sewage works for the city. And, 50 years ago, Old Torry was bulldozed to expand the harbour for the oil industry. We must not let this destruction of Torry continue.

The Scottish Greens are calling for existing industrial locations and brownfield sites in Aberdeen to be used for the Energy Transition Zone as part of a socially and environmentally just transition to renewables.

You can help by emailing the Minister responsible. His decision on St Fittick’s Park is due imminently.
