Nature funding essential to Scotland’s climate and biodiversity recovery
The Scottish Government’s record £2.2 billion funding commitment for climate, nature and biodiversity will help create a living legacy for future generations, say the Scottish Greens.
Scottish Greens Finance spokesperson Ross Greer MSP said:
“By boosting funding for national parks, increasing the NatureScot budget, continuing the recently established Nature Restoration Fund and much more, we are creating a living legacy.
“The work that goes on now will last generations, and demonstrates the importance this budget attaches to our environment and net zero commitments.
“So too the investment of millions of pounds for agri-environment schemes and other programmes to help achieve our net zero targets, along with millions of pounds more to protect our precious marine environment.
“It is a budget that will make a lasting impact on our nature and biodiversity ambitions.”
